Lambton House Talk a Roaring Success
Over 50 people jammed into the historic Lambton House in the Humber Valley to listen to my first-ever presentation on the history of Runnymede, Toronto's west-end neighbourhood.
I outlined my forthcoming book, Runnymede, the In-Between Neighbourhood.I interspersed excerpts from the book with some of the salient points about the history, starting 13,000 years ago. The geography of Runnymede as well as the Indigenous, colonial and urbanization eras are all covered. I'm also featuring a number of influential people in the neighbourhood as well as businesses and cultural institutions.
I ended the talk with a quiz on Runnymede and despite all of the history buffs in the room, I was able to stump the group several times!
