Live Music in 4 corners of Runnymede

Runnymede, despite its tiny size (700 metres by 800 metres) has four live music spots - essentially one at every corner of the Neighbourhood.

Starting in the Northeast corner at 3367 Dundas- just west of Runnymede is Tail of the Junction.

There is a range of music including Jazz on Monday evenings.  But the focus seems to be more on hard rock.  Mind you a few weeks ago they hosted a live wrestling match on the back patio.

Notes:  There is no food served here AND they host all age events too.

Heading west on Dundas is the Cat Pub & Eatery - 3513 Dundas St W

It's the place with huge windows facing west onto Priscilla.  It's primarily a sports bar with a lot of big screens that always attracts a crowd for all sorts of sports.  The food menu is solid and reasonably priced.

It does have a stage and there are a range of live and not so live music events like Karaoke and DJ driven dancing.  However live bands do play there weekly

Next stop is right at the corner of Jane and Annette.  Marco Gigli took over this space from a failed cafe chain and has created a marvelous space - Cafe Gigli - 399 Jane St

In addition to some of the best coffee and pastries around,  Marco has introduced live music every Saturday afternoon. A classically trained pianist,  Marco doffs his apron and entertains a packed house with lively musical tunes and jazz classics.   As well his special dinners feature live music as well.

Heading east, to close off the square, you'll find Annette Studios at 566 Annette St, just west of Runnymede.  This space was previously a yoga studio and prior to that a Buddhist temple.

This is recording studio - one of two in our neighbourhood where the space becomes a performance space at night.  Jazz, classical and experimental music.
