Runnymede's Pop Up Golf Course - Little Book Now Available
In 1901 a group of avid golfers in West Toronto decided they wanted to play in their own backyard.
With the goal of playing in the Runnymede neighbourhood, over the next 5 years the golf course kept popping up in different locations as it tried to find a long-term home.
The growing number of homes, the expansion of the railway and even the need for a new military base all figured into the uncertainty of its future.
The Pop-up Golf Course is a little book that goes into the history of the Highlands Golf Course and golfing in the early 1900s.
